Who are we ?
Stephen Barby.
Bass player supremo, Steve joined the group in 2004 and made an enormous
impact on the overall sound and style of our music. Steve is a relative
newcomer to folk having played for many years in Indie style bands, he adds
depth, power and originality to our performances.
Adrian Berry
Guitar and mandolin player (and sound engineer/cable winder) uses a variety
of guitars and styles to provide the principal rhythm section and occasional
variety to the melody. The dual voice Godin Solidac electric guitar and
Matamp stack are used sparingly so traditionalists need not worry too much.
Also the band’s second line vocalist
Paula Berry
Without doubt the foundation on which the band's sound is built. A
classically trained violinist who adapts readily to all styles of music, she
drives the melody with power, feeling and unfailing accuracy.
Quentin Duckering
The latest addition to the band, Quentin is a kit drummer and accomplished
French horn player whose musical skills have added enormously to the sound,
and he may yet keep the rest of us in time!
Katherine Greenwell
The true folkie of the group plays a mean banjo and sings both gentle ballad
and raunchy dance songs. Her experience as a folk performer and devotee
helps keep the balance of our performance authentic.
Anne Swain
With a variety of high and low whistles Anne provides melody and harmony as
well as supplementing the rhythm with 6 string guitar when Adrian is AWOL on
guitar. She is also occasional caller and prime music
organiser.
Peter Ward
The percussionist (and business manager) of the group provides subtle use of
the Bodhran with living proof that the Djembe needs no amplification in any
sensibly sized venue.
